Sustainability podcast at Butte College

(Audio) Butte College podcaster Dan Barnett interviewed Ryan Lane, a campus activist, this fall about sustainability, which Lane sees as "a type of development that doesn't take away from the needs of people yet to come [as it] meets the needs of everybody right now." He speaks of "the difference between needs and wants" and of "trying to live within our niche," which Barnett translates into "thinking ahead as we do our thing."

The podcast introduces new initiatives at Butte College and nearby Chico State, where both faculties are working sustainability topics into courses and helping students take practical, ethical sustainability skills with them into careers.  See also the Butte sustainability blog, the campus’s brochure on sustainability, and the Sustainability Bulletin.  Chico State also has an informative web presence for its sustainability program.
